Accounting I - Elective 10th - 12th
The Accounting I course introduces the student to the complete accounting cycle. The class provides a basis for students who have a variety of career objectives. It emphasizes skills needed for jobs most typically obtained by high school graduates and also provides a foundation on which to continue studying business and accounting at the collegiate level.
Accounting II - Elective 11th and 12th
This class is not guaranteed to be offered. It depends on the demand from students and may be offered on an every-other-year basis in instead of Accounting I. The Accounting II course continues where Accounting I left off in the accounting cycle. The class provides a basis for students who have a variety of career objectives. It emphasizes skills needed for jobs most typically obtained by high school graduates and also provides a foundation on which to continue studying business and accounting at the collegiate level.

Co-op Seminar - Elective 10th - 12th
This course is offered to students considering Co-operative Education Work Experience for their senior year and to those students desiring additional Employability Skills. This work-based learning will be a combination of school-based preparation and will culminate in actual work experiences which are designed to enable students to acquire attitudes, skills, and knowledge for career and other life roles in real world settings. This class is the prerequisite for Co-op Work Experience.

*Contemporary Work Related Issues (affirmative action, sexual harassment, drug testing, etc.)
*History of the Labor Movement, the role of Unions and Professional Organizations
*Round table discussion offering the student the opportunity to discuss their own employment related issues.
*Guest Speakers offering career and employment issues first hand.
Co-op Education
Co-operative Education/Work Based Learning is a program for students who receive on-the-job training through an agreement between the student, the school, and an employer. Students must take the academic subjects required to fulfill graduation requirements before they can earn credits from learning experiences obtained through employment. Only students with 90% ATTENDANCE (no more than 18 days of absences for previous year) and Grade Point Average of 2.0 or above qualify for enrollment in this program. Prerequisite: Application to Co-op Coordinator the preceding spring term & Co-op Seminar
Business Math - Elective-10th-12th (1 credit)
Students will develop math skills they will need on the job and in their daily lives. Using a calculator, the student will determine interest rates, mark up and mark downs, payroll deductions, income tax return preparation, square footage, and much more.
Business Math can be counted as a math credit OR an elective credit.
*Clubs and Organizations related to Business* Business Professionals of America (BPA)
Business Professional of America is a vocational student organization whose mission is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. The organization’s activities and programs compliment classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
The Workplace Skills Assessment Program consists of 48 different competitive events and is an integral part of the organization. The goal of the program is to provide all business students with the opportunity to demonstrate workplace skills learned through their business education curriculums.
Students who place competitively have an opportunity to compete at the state and national levels with over 4,000 other delegates from across the nation. They participate in business skill competitions, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.
